“We owe it to each other to tell stories.”
― Neil Gaiman
When I decided to refurbish my website, the WordPress template I was using asked for a tagline. And when I thought about it, I realized that this summed up everything I love about the work I do.
I have always loved stories. All kinds of stories, in any format—I love listening to them told, reading them on the page, and watching them on the screen.
When I find a good story, my first impulse is to share it. Good stories are meant to be shared; they enrich us all. That’s the heart of the work I do: helping people and organizations tell their stories. I listen to their stories, and I help them shape those stories to share them with the world.
I think it’s important work. Why? I believe that’s how we change the world—not through facts, figures, and statistics, as important as those may be—but through our stories. Stories can touch the heart, fire up the imagination, stir the soul, change minds, and maybe, just maybe, transform the world.
So what’s your story?
“After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.”
― Philip Pullman
